PCB-specific shears are far more expensive, and most likely not built quite as well as this---it's made of heavy steel and has a smooth cutting action with plenty of leverage. <br /> <br />It makes clean, straight cuts, the adjustable hold-down is easy to use, and it cuts through PCBs like butter. While I haven't used it on any other materials, it seems clear that sheet metal and plastics will be no problem at all.
